Healthy Active School Challenges - April
14th-18th: Have at least one piece of fruit at each lunch break
21st-25th: Go one night without t.v. or video games this week
28th-May 2nd: Learn something new each day and tell someone about it
This Week We Are Learning:
Science: We are learning and inquiring into the Boats and Buoyancy unit.
Math: Students are working on number sense.
Language Arts: We are working on our Pirates unit and learning to be good sailors!
Word sorts: The word sorts were sent out last week; please practice the words with your child.
Home reading: Please write and initial your child’s reading minutes on his/her calendar for the month of April within the agenda.
Library: We have library on Mondays; please ensure library books are sent back to be exchanged.
Social: Our unit on Meteghan, Nova Scotia is going well and we are learning lots about the east coast.

Special Events & Projects
- Swimming & Boat Testing - Tomorrow, April 15th, we will be going swimming and boat testing at the Rocky Mountain House Swimming Pool from 2pm to 3pm. Please send a bathing suit and a towel for your child. If you would like to join us, please feel free to meet at the school at 2pm and walk with us!
- Boat Building - Students will be bringing home a list of materials for their boat building this week. Please help them collect the necessary materials and bring them to school by April 22nd (Tuesday, next week). We will be building boats starting on the 22nd of April.
- Parent Volunteers - We are always welcome to parent helpers in the classroom. Please write a note in your child’s agenda if you can volunteer an hour or two for and with our students. Thank you to our past volunteers for your hard work!!
