Healthy Active School Challenges - April
7-11th: Do a physical activity outdoors each day
14th-18th: Have at least one piece of fruit at each lunch break
21st-25th: Go one night without t.v. or video games this week
28th-May 2nd: Learn something new each day and tell someone about it
This Week We Are Learning:
Science: We are learning and inquiring into the Boats and Buoyancy unit.
Math: Students are working on number sense.
Language Arts: We are starting a new unit called “Pirates!” and are excited to be “arghing”!.
Word sorts: There are new word sorts this week; please practice the words with your child.
Home reading: Please write and initial your child’s reading minutes on his/her calendar for the month of April within the agenda.
Library: We have library on Mondays; please ensure library books are sent back to be exchanged.
Social: Students are starting a new unit based on Meteghan, Nova Scotia on the east coast of Canada.

Special Events & Projects
- Boats - Over the next couple of weeks, we will be building boats. Please help your child collect the necessary materials (after you have received a list) for the building of their boat in class. We will be testing them either in April or May. If you have any questions or concerns, please write a note or drop by and see us!
- Parent Volunteers - We are always welcome to parent helpers in the classroom. Please write a note in your child’s agenda if you can volunteer an hour or two for our students. Thank you to our past volunteers for your hard work!!
